Picturesque Camden, Maine is just a thirty minute drive from Searsport and offers a variety of memorable day trips. The downtown area is dotted with unique shops, boutiques, bistros, and restaurants. Checkout French & Brawn Market Place in the heart of town for a variety of interesting and exotic foods – or stop by one of the many gift shops for a Maine-inspired souvenir.

Up the road overlooking the harbor you will find Heartstone Inn, built in 1835. The inn offers great gourmet lunches and elegant dinners. Down by the water, don’t forget to visit Fresh bistro and bakery for an inspiring, innovative dish featuring local Maine ingredients.

At the harbor, you can also book a cruise aboard one of a number of historic sailing ships, schooners, and fishing boats. Tours include trips around Penobscot Bay, sunset sails, and much more. Most are child and pet friendly.

On the way to Camden, you should consider stopping in Linconville and its many antique and book shops. Linconville also offers ferry service to Islesboro and Warren Island State Park.
